Explorer, Athlete & Speaker

For the last 24 years Damian has been consumed by a passion and purpose to pursue his human potential. For 16 years he went to war on the pitches of Europe's 3 major leagues, living his childhood dream as a professional rugby player. Accumulating in him winning some of club rugby’s biggest prizes including the Heineken Cup & Pro 14 Title. An incredibly fruitful life chapter and a deep journey of exploration, learning and experience into the potential and power of the human body and mind, that only a warrior sport like rugby can allow.

Since retirement from rugby he has continued his search at the edges of life, now through challenge and adventure. For Damian extreme adventure was the perfect fit for what he aspired to do with the next chapter in life. It’s components of extraordinary experiences, amazing achievements and beautiful memories, although very important to him, were secondary compared to the rewards of the internal journey, produced through living authentically and in alignment with one’s values, leading to a deepening of character, an expansion of self-awareness and profound level of contentment & fulfilment.

“I’m just relentlessly driven to live genuinely and pursue my passions wholeheartedly, fighting fear and societal conditioning, uncovering and overcoming internal resistance and sharing a way of life that has led me to inner peace alongside a locomotive ambition for more from myself and life."

In 2016 I completed the 6 day, 257km Marathon des Sables, a self supported ultra marathon through the Sahara desert, also known as  'The Toughest Footrace on Earth’. It’s not! It’s just marketing but there’s no doubt it’s tough. I followed that in 2018 with a solo and unsupported row, 5000 kms across the Atlantic ocean, in 63 days, 6 hours and 25 minutes. Joining a very exclusive group of less than 200 people to ever achieve the feat. In fact more people have been in space than rowed the Atlantic solo. Currently I have summited 5 of the 7 Summits, a renowned mountaineering feat to stand on top of the highest point on each continent with my recent attempt on Mount Everest thwarted dramatically by COVID19.

Since I first took responsibility for my physical state as an overweight 17 year old, my mindset and drive has been one of self realisation. The rewards have been incredible and continue to unveil themselves as I push further into my fears and insecurities, creating the most fulfilling positive feedback loop you could ever imagine to wish for.

Honestly this has always been my private world, where I gained my edge on opposition in sport and gained knowledge about and improved my relationship with myself, that simply nourished me on a profound level,

"...why would I share it? Why would people even care?

Through the growth and evolution of consciousness the ‘hard road’ journey has unveiled to me the answers to those questions. It’s helped me see with different eyes and uncover a part of my purpose which was once clouded. A philosophy I hold is, “life is a fight”, a beautiful fight, but a fight nonetheless and I’ve discovered so much that can help others in their life journeys, I sincerely feel it's my duty to share it. So here I am opening up access to you. Perhaps you, like me, are that way inclined and thirst for more…."
